Saudi-backed militants kidnap senior official in Aden

ADEN, Jan. 25 (YPA) – Pro-Saudi Arabia militants kidnapped on Wednesday a senior official in the Mualla district, in the center of Aden, south of Yemen.

Local media sources said a military force affiliated with the pro-Saudi “Emergency Battalion” arrested the head of the so-called “head of the local leadership of the UAE-funded Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias, Ali Awad al-Yafei, in Mualla district.

It attributed the arrest of Al-Yafe’i to the raising of the “STC flag” on Tuesday, at the directives of Saudi leaders present in the city, according to “Al-Watan Al-Adaniya.”

Activists in the STC accused Saudi Arabia of dismantling the its factions in Aden, and of not allowing the head of STC Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi to return to Aden since last October.
