WORLD, Jan. 22 (YPA) – Burkina Faso has officially asked French troops to leave its territory within a period of one month.
The Burkina Faso news agency reported that the country’s government denounced, during a meeting, the agreement dating back to December 17, 2018, which regulated France’s military presence in the country,
Burkina Faso has recently witnessed many mass demonstrations demanding the expulsion of French troops because they did not provide the country with the assistance required to confront terrorist groups.
Since 2015, several areas of Burkina Faso have been plagued by insecurity and repeated attacks by takfiri groups that have left thousands dead and injured in addition to displacing nearly 2 million people.
