STC militants kidnap 8 activists in Mukalla

HADRAMOUT, Jan. 11 (YPA) – The UAE-backed militia kidnapped on Wednesday a number of young activists in the city of Mukalla, the capital of Hadramout.

 Pro-Islah human rights sources said that “Hadrami Elite” militia of the Southern Transitional Council carried out a campaign of break-ins of a number of houses in al-Quaiti neighborhood of Mukalla, and kidnapped about 8 people on charges of inciting protests against the dosage of raising oil derivatives, and its repercussions on the living conditions of citizens.

The sources confirmed that the militia members came to the neighborhood on board Emirati vehicles armed with various weapons, and took the activists to one of its secret prisons.

This comes after the announcement of a new dose in the prices of oil derivatives by the government of Moain Abdulmalik of the coalition, amid calls for a new uprising against the dose of death, amid a deterioration in the price of the Yemeni riyal against foreign currencies.
