Three fishermen arrive in Hodeida after being released by coalition forces

HODEIDA, Jan. 07 (YPA) – Three fishermen who were detained by Saudi-led coalition forces, have arrived on Friday at the fishing port of Hodeida city, and they were received by the General Authority for Fisheries in the Red Sea.

Deputy Chairman of the Red Sea Fisheries Authority, Mohammed Al-Omeisy, explained that the released fishermen were detained for 11 days and subjected to different kind of  torture,.

He stressed the committee’s keenness to strengthen its role in following up on the cases of the kidnapped fishermen and caring for their families.

Aziz Al-Auttini, Deputy Chairman of the Committee to Support the Abducted Fishermen, Director General of Ports and Fish Landing Center, said that the released fishermen were received and provided with financial assistance by the committee to alleviate their suffering and facilitate their return to their families.

For their part, the released fishermen explained that the coalition’s mercenaries aggression onboard two marine boats kidnapped them while fishing off the island of Al-Sha’abin, located west of  Buhais area near the Midi district, Hajjah Governorate.

They confirmed that they were beaten and cursed, blindfolded, taken to military boats, held in solitary confinement, tortured, denied food except for a loaf of bread and water, and ill-treated.
