MAHRA, Jan. 04 (YPA) – Gunmen loyal to the UAE occupation forces attacked the house of head of the “Political Bureau of the Southern Revolutionary Movement”, who is opposing foreign occupation in Mahra province, eastern Yemen.
Informed sources in the governorate reported that members of the coalition-backed militia stormed the house of Madram Abu Siraj in the city of Al-Ghaydah, the capital of Mahra, and tried to take him by force of arms to Al-Ghaydah Airport prison, which is used by foreign forces as a military base.
The sources pointed out that one of the tribal notables in Mahra intervened and prevented the abduction of the leader Abu Madram, and took him to his home.
On his twitter account, “Abu Siraj”, attributed the abduction attempt by pro-coalition intelligence, due to to his demands to release the leader of the revolutionary movement, Asaad Sakina, who was kidnapped by the UAE-backed militia in the Crater area, at the end of last December, and other political detainees in the prisons of the Emirates militia in Aden.
The sources pointed out that the armed elements left a state of panic and terror among children and women of Abu Siraj, his neighbors in his neighborhood.
It is noteworthy that the UAE-backed militia released Madram Abu Siraj from one of the Aden prisons, in mid-July, after a year of enforced disappearance without any charge against him.
He is known for his opposition to the destructive policy implemented by the UAE and Saudi Arabia in the southern governorates since mid-2015.
