ADEN, Dec. 28 (YPA) – The UAE-funded militia kidnapped on Tuesday a southern leader in the city of Aden, southern Yemen.
Local sources said the elements of the militia on a car arrested the leader in the Southern Revolutionary Movement Council, Asaad Jaafar Abdullah Sukaina, and took him to an unknown destination.
Meanwhile, the council condemned in a statement the crime of arbitrarily kidnapping the leader Sukaina, considering it a flagrant violation of human rights and an infringement of his right to a safe life, holding the UAE militias fully responsible for Sukaina’s life.
The Council’s statement referred to the suppression of freedoms and restrictions on peaceful opinion and expression, accusing the militia of following terrorist behavior as a means of repressive and arbitrary violations.
It demanded the quick release of Sukaina, and respect for political rights and freedom of expression guaranteed by international human rights laws and covenants.
