TEHRAN, Dec.21 (YPA) – Iran announced on Wednesday that it had received a Saudi notification to resume diplomatic talks.
Iranian Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, said that he met his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, on the sidelines of the Baghdad Security and Partnership Conference held in Jordan, affirming that the Saudi minister informed him of the Kingdom’s willingness to resume dialogue with Iran.
“Abdollahian” wrote on Twitter: “I attended the Baghdad 2 conference in Jordan to confirm our support for Iraq, and on the sidelines of the meeting I also had the opportunity to have a friendly event with some of my counterparts, including the foreign ministers of Oman, Qatar, Iraq, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.”
There were reports talking about the possibility of organizing a meeting between Saudi Crown Prince “Mohammed bin Salman” and Iranian President “Ebrahim Raisi” during the “Baghdad 2 Conference”, but in the end they did not attend.
