SHABWA, Dec. 18 (YPA) – Shabwa tribes threatened on Sunday to expel al-Amaliqa forces backed by the UAE in the province, eastern Yemen.
Media sources familiar with the matter said the threat came after the leadership of the UAE-funded al-Amaliqa Brigades (Giants) refused to arbitrate two tribes of al-Awaleq and Laqmoush in two murder cases in the province last week.
The sources confirmed that the al-Amaliqa dealt with the tribes sarcastically, in a manner of duplicity and discrimination, in contrast to the Belharith tribes in Beihan city, which the leaders were quick to arbitrate due to the looting and theft of agricultural project equipment in Beihan.
A number of activists on social media from the people of Shabwa accused the leaders of the al-Amaliqa of sowing discord and creating conflict in Shabwa.
