SANAA, Dec. 15 (YPA) – The army and police in Pakistan announced on Thursday that a soldier and a passerby were killed and 14 others were injured due to explosion of a roadside bomb in the northwestern border region of Pakistan.
According to The “Associated Press” Agency, Khalid Wazir, a local police official, said that the explosion apparently targeted a convoy of security forces passing near the town of Miran Shah in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province near the Afghan border, indicating that the explosion damaged nearby shops, but the wounded were mostly from the troops.
No one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, but the mountainous and isolated area is a former stronghold of the Pakistani Taliban Movement.
