Academician escapes assassination attempt in Aden

ADEN, Dec. 13 (YPA) – An academician had survived an assassination attempt in the city of Aden, which is under the control of the UAE militia.

Head of the Supreme Council of the Executive Body of Community Colleges, Dr. Abdullah Saleh Al-Hajj, confirmed in a statement issued by him that unidentified gunmen opened fire at him when he arrived near his home in Al-Salam City in Dar Saad area, on Monday.

He explained that he had been subjected to threats by the gang, and had previously informed the concerned authorities without apprehending the perpetrators.

The attempt to assassinate Al-Hajj was widely condemned by the deans of community colleges and the employees of the Supreme Council of the Executive Body of Community Colleges, considering the attempt as a cowardly act targeting the academic staff, calling on the Riyadh-formed Presidential Council to quickly prosecute the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
