Clashes break out between mercenary groups in Aden

ADEN, Dec. 11 (YPA) -Clashes broke out between gunmen and a security force loyal to the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) in the southern Yemeni city of Aden a dawn today.

This was reported by Yemen News Portal, based on testimonies of local sources

According to the local sources, gunmen clashed with a force from the Security Belt in the Block 13 neighborhood in the Al-Mamdara area, east of Sheikh Othman district.

The clashes, in which medium weapons were used, were followed by a heavy security deployment in the district, the sources said.

The clashes caused panic among citizens, while local residents confirmed that the clashes had caused damages.

The clashes are part of the conflicts taking place in the city between groups loyal to the STC and its formations that have multiple loyalties over influence in the city.
