Saudi-affiliated forces attack STC militia in Lahj

LAHJ, Dec. 10 (YPA) – The so-called “Dera’ Al-Watan Forces” affiliated with Saudi Arabia attacked areas in Lahj province, southern Yemen, arrested militias members of the recruit of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC).

According media sources, the  “Dera’ Al-Watan Forces” stationed Al-Madhariba” and “Ras Al-Ara” areas launched arrests against recruits of the “9th Commandos Brigade”against the background of their detention with tribal gunmen a water truck for the brigade in order to pressure the brigade commander to leave the area.

The soldier “Qamari Al-Saoari, nicknamed “Abu Shuja’a,” was severely beaten by Dera’ Al-Watan Forces at the moment of his arrest in in the village of “Khor Al-Omira”. They took him in a humiliating manner on board one of the vehicles to the brigade’s camp.

Tensions have escalated between the two sides in the areas, where military clashes may erupt at any moment.
