Emirati forces reject efforts to release senior Islah leader in Hadramout

SANAA, Dec. 01 (YPA) – Emirati forces rejected on Thursday efforts to release a prominent leader of the Islah party, who was arrested a few days ago while trying to enter Mukalla city of Hadramout province.

According to sources in the local authority in Hadramout, the UAE-backed governor, Mabkhout bin Madi, and the commander of the Second Military, contacted the Saudi-led coalition operations’ room in Mukalla in an attempt to release the leader of the Islah party, Awad al-Duqail, but the Emirati officers refused under the pretext of his relationship with terrorism.

Members of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) militia, stationed in the Al-Shaqqin military point in Broum district, had arrested Al-Duqail after his return from Aden on board a bus, according to a statement by the Islah Party. Al-Duqail’s fate has not been known since his arrest on Friday evening.

In a statement, the party stated that it had communicated with the governor of Hadramout and the commander of the Second Military, who confirmed their efforts to solve the problem.

Al-Duqail’s arrest at this time indicates that the UAE has begun to implement the Aden scenario, during which it succeeded in abusing Islah leaders and activists, especially the process comes at a time when Hadramout is witnessing an unprecedented movement to draw its identity in the future.
