ADEN, Nov. 28 (YPA) – The Saudi forces imposed strict measures against the UAE-funded Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militias in the city of Aden, south of Yemen.
Local sources said that the Saudi forces prevented the STC from organizing the event of the 55th National Anniversary of the Day of Evacuation of the British Occupation on November 30, 1967, in the city of Aden.
The sources added that the Saudi forces forced the STC to move the organization of the National Evacuation Day event to the city of Zinjibar, the capital of Abyan province, 60 km from Aden.
This came after the escalation of the dispute between the Saudi forces and the leaders of the STC and the reinforcement of the factions loyal to Riyadh with dozens of military vehicles, in addition to preventing the return of the STC’s head, Aidarous al-Zubaidi, to Aden, amid Saudi efforts to hand the city over to Tariq Saleh, a nephew of the former President Ali Abdullah Selah.
Last month, Saudi Arabia instructed the head of the leadership council of the coalition, Rashad Al-Alimi, to restore work to the so-called “National Security” agency, which was headed by “Ammar Saleh,” Tariq’s brother, in the city of Aden.
