Yemeni sailors returned to Hodeida after being detained off Hajjah coast

HODEIDA, Nov. 17 (YPA) – About six Yemeni sailors returned on Thursday to Hodeida after being kidnapped by the Saudi-led coalition forces off the coast of Medi in Hajjah province.

Ministry of Fisheries confirmed in a news statement that the fish landing center in Al-Lahiyah in Hodeida received the fishermen days after they were detained and their boats seized by the coalition, while they were engaged in fishing activity off the coast of Medi.

The ministry stated that the process of the abduction came as part of the violations that have increased – during the recent period – against Yemeni fishermen by the tools of the coalition hired by the Emirati forces on the coasts of the Red Sea.

The statement called on the United Nations, the international community and human rights organizations to take action to stop the ongoing violations and abuses against fishermen since the start of the war on Yemen.
