Sanaa seizes over 4,000 poor gas cylinders

SANAA, Nov. 17 (YPA) – The Yemeni Gas Company in cooperation with the security services seized more than 4,000 gas cylinders, which don’t not conform to specifications and standards.

The company’s spokesman of, Ali Maasar, said in a news statement on Thursday about 600 smuggled valves of poor manufacture and non-conforming specifications were also seized.

He stressed that the seized quantities entered the country by smuggling, some of the cylinders do not conform to specifications and standards and pose a threat to the lives of citizens as they are liable to explode in any moment.

Maasar pointed out that he addressed the concerned authorities to examine and dispose the seized quantities, in order to preserve the safety of citizens.

The spokesman called for concerted efforts to limit the spread of the sale of smuggled and non-conforming gas cylinders in the local markets, and to work to tighten control and control procedures for their entry.
