Despite destruction of airport infrastructure, Yemen ranks first in organizing air traffic

SANAA, Nov. 12 (YPA) – The Republic of Yemen, represented by the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority (CAMA), celebrated on Saturday in Sanaa with the rest of the world the International Day of Air Traffic Safety Electronics Engineers, which falls on November 12 of each year.

CAMA’s Chairman, Dr. Muhammad Abdulrahman Abdulqadir, confirmed that the Republic of Yemen obtained in 2019 the best country in the Arab region in securing international airlines, which cross the air region.

He stated that the Air Traffic Center Control, affiliated to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in Bahrain, confirmed that Yemen is the best country in the Arab region to provide the center with navigational data to secure international air navigation and the safety of passengers.

Abdulqadir pointed to the obstacles facing the air navigation movement as a result of the systematic destruction of Yemen’s airports, especially Sanaa International Airport, by the Saudi-led aggression coalition.

He praised the professional and technical role of air navigation safety electronics engineers and their contribution to providing alternative air navigation devices and equipment to the devices destroyed by the aggression coalition.

For his part, the Undersecretary of CAMA, Raed Jabal, affirmed Yemen’s keenness to celebrate this occasion despite the aggression on its airports.

He noted the exceptional circumstances in which electronics engineers work in Yemen in light of the aggression of the coalition, which did not allow the entry of devices and equipment.
