Hadramout authority approves to expel Al-Ahmar forces from Al-Wadi’a crossing

HARAMOUT, Nov. 07 (YPA) – The local authority of Hadramout approved on Monday the expulsion of Islah-affiliated Hashem Al-Ahmar forces from their most important strongholds on the Yemeni-Saudi border.

Local sources revealed that the province’s leadership stressed, during a meeting, the necessity of handing over the al-Wadi’a border crossing to a battalion of the Hadrami elite and closing one of its gates.

The sources said the decision came as part of arrangements nurtured by the Saudi-led coalition to transfer the forces of the First Military District, affiliated with Islah, out of the oil plateau areas in the province’s Valley and Desert.

It is the only border crossing with Saudi Arabia that currently operating under direct management by Hashem al-Ahmar, a brother of the leader of the Islah Party, Hamid al-Ahmar, and the crossing’s revenues gets tens of billions per month for the benefit of these factions.
