Al-Damashiqa’ tribes inflict heavy casualties on Islah militants in Marib

MARIB, Nov. 04 (YPA) – Al-Damashiqa’ tribes have inflicted significant human and material losses on  the Saudi-led coalition’s militants during the latest attack on  the tribe’s areas in the Wadi district west of Marib.

Tribal sources explained that the militants affiliated with Islah military commander, Saeed bin Ma’eli, including elements of al-Qaeda who brought them from Abyan at the end of August, targeted the areas of Al-Damashiqa’ tribes with various types of weapons.

The sources confirmed that tribesmen of Al-Damashiqa’ were able to destroy two armored vehicles and three military pickup vehicles in the attack .

According to the sources, Islah militants used various types of light and medium weapons during their attack on the tribe, killing and wounding a number of displaced people.

The sources reported that among the dead were Ali bin Hassan bin Saada, and two of the Shayah family “Amin bin Ali bin Shayae, Osama Mohammed bin Ali bin Shayae”, in addition to the killing of Abdullah bin Naji Ma’eli.

Clashes are still ongoing between the two sides, the sources added.
