WORLD, Oct. 31 (YPA) – Former Brazilian President Luis Inacio Lula da Silva on Sunday won the second round of Brazil’s presidential election over his rival.
He defeated incumbent Jair Bolsonaro in an election that marked a stunning comeback for the leftist leader and the end of the country’s most right-wing government.
Da Silva has 50.7% of the vote, compared to 49.3% for Bolsonaro, according to the country’s election authority.
Leftist President da Silva will rule a third term of four years, he ruled the country from 2003 to 2011.
