SAHBWA, Oct. 27 (YPA) – Armed clashes erupted on Thursday in the city of Ataq, the capital provincial of Shabwa in eastern Yemen, between UAE-backed armed faction and tribal militants.
Local sources said a number of gunmen were wounded after targeting two military supply vehicles belonging to the so-called UAE-backed Shabwa Defense Forces by the tribal militants in Al-Masnaa area of al-Saeid district.
Several gunmen of the “Shabwa Defense Forces” faction raided a number of citizens’ homes in the district, under the allegations of pursuing tribal gunmen involved in bombings that earlier targeted a military convoy.
Shabwa is witnessing a major insecurity and an increase in bombing attacks against forces loyal to the UAE in the province.
