Oil spill mixes with drinking, irrigation water in Shabwa

SHABWA, Oct. 27 (YPA) – For the second day in a row, a new oil leaked in Al-Rawdah area in Shabwa province, which is under the control of transitional authorities, local sources confirmed.

The sources pointed out that the oil pipeline, which passes from Ayyad area to the export port of Nashima in Ghurair area of Al-Rawdah district, witnessed a large leak of crude oil, and it mixed with the drinking and irrigation water of citizens, which portends a major environmental disaster.

The sources explained that the leakage of crude oil to the farms of citizens and the proximity of water resources, portends an environmental and health disaster, amid the disregard of “Transitional” authorities of maintenance the pipeline.
