Tehran condemns use of violence against demonstrators in France

TEHRAN, Oct. 20 (YPA) – The Iranian Foreign Ministry condemned on Thursday the French police’s resort to oppression and violence against peaceful strikers.

This came during the comment of the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s spokesman, Nasser Kanaani, on the events and protest gatherings taking place in France.

“We are closely following the popular demonstrations and widespread strikes in France, which are based on the peaceful demands of the citizens of this country,” Kanaani said.

The spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained that the hypocrisy of the French authorities is regrettable.

He added “They insist on committing coercive and violent acts, which were previously used in the face of the yellow vest demonstrations,” referring to the brutality of the police in this country based on the ethnic conflicts.
