Armed gang breaks into citizen’s house in Aden

ADEN, Oct. 17 (YPA) – An armed gang on Sunday stormed a home of a citizen in the Southern Port city of Aden, which is under the control of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militia.

According to human rights sources, the gang members, including “women”, took advantage of being the head of the family, Khaled Awadh Sadaka, 65, out of the house and his wife alone inside the house, masked men and women broke into the house and assaulted the woman in the Remy neighborhood in the district of al- Mansoura.

They wrapped her mouth by adhesive tape, with handcuffed hands behind her back. The gang members also searched for money and precious things, the sources said.

The wife explained that her husband was beaten immediately after he entered the house. He was hit with a glass bottle in his head and got a stab while resisting the gang members. They tried to force him to tell them whereabouts of the money and precious things.

The man was taken to one of the city’s hospitals for treatment.

The people of Aden city live in terror and fear due to the chaos and deterioration of security since the beginning of 2016, due to the spread of armed militias with multiple loyalties.
