Al-Qirbi: UN truce faces difficulty in explaining ambiguity of its formulation

SANAA, Sept. 28 (YPA) – Yemen’s former foreign minister, Dr. Abu Bakr Al-Qirbi, said on Wednesday “the armistice agreement faces the difficulty of explaining the constructive ambiguity in its formulation.”

The dispute is about the period of the truce, the resources for disbursing salaries and lists of beneficiaries and who will finance the deficit, Al-Qirbi explained on “Twitter”, indicating that this will reveal the party who sees the truce as an opportunity to stop the war, or to be a warrior’s rest.”

He attributed the lack of clarity of the parties’ intentions to the absence of implementation guarantees, in reference to the manipulation of the United Nations and its UN envoy to Yemen.

During the past two days, Al-Qirbi questioned about the guarantees in implementing the armistice mechanisms in its fourth version, which will leade to stop military actions, to open all roads and to increase flights from Sanaa airport according to a chronic plan with the development of programs that address economic conditions, including the payment of salaries and preparation for negotiations for a comprehensive political solution.
