Iranian president: Iran seeks justice in the case of General Suoleiamni’s assassination

WOILD, Sept. 22 (YPA) – Iranian President Sayyed Ebrahim Raisi said that Iran was a victim of terrorism and is now the home of safety and the fight against terrorism, calling on the United Nations General Assembly to follow up on the crime of murdering the martyr Hajj Qassem Soleimani by the United States.

He called for prosecution of former US president Donald Trump, stressing that Iran will pursue the assassination of the country’s top anti-terror commander General Qassem Soleimani.

Raisi made the remarks as he addressed the 77th annual session of the United Nations General Assembly [UNGA] in New York.

President Raisi said: “The Iranian people have been victims of terrorism and Iran today is the home of safety and the main warrior of terrorism in the world; it has made many sacrifices to reach its lofty and just goals.”

He added that “the former US president admitted that it was the United States that created the terrorist Daesh,” noting that “the United States shed the blood of thousands of innocent people old and young in the region, but the Islamic Republic has failed all its projects in the region.”

The Iranian president stressed that “the Hajj Qassem Soleimani is the one who led the war against terrorism and destroyed ISIS, and he fought for the freedom of peoples and was martyred for it.”

He said Iran seeks justice in the case of General Suoleiamni’s assassination and will sue the perpetrators behind the crime.

Raisi added that just prosecution of the atrocity that Trump has admitted to committing equals “doing humanity a service,” asserting, “We will pursue justice and trial of the person who perpetrated it, and the one, who advised it, through a just court and until reaching a definite result.”
