Ministry of Awqaf condemns bombing of historic mausoleum in Yemen’s Western Coast

SANAA, June 25 (YPA) – The Ministry of Awqaf and Guidance condemned the continuation of criminal acts committed by the US-backed Saudi-led coalition aggression in targeting Islamic sanctities, most recently the bombing of the mosque and mausoleum of the Religion Scientist “Ahmed al-Faz,” in Hodeidah province.

The ministry condemned, in a statement obtained by Yemen Press agency,  the detonating  of the archaeological mosque of the Religion Scientist “Ahmed al-Faz,” which dates to the seventh century AH in Yemen’s western coast by the elements of al-Qaeda, who fighting under the so-called brigades of the southern Amalika ‘giants’ forces led by Raed al-Habhi.

The statement pointed out that this crime is added to the series of coalition crimes against Yemen and its targeting of all elements of life, including Islamic sanctities, where 908 mosques were targeted, mostly archaeological .. Calling on the Islamic community to criminalize and stop these absurd practices against the heritage and sanctities of Yemen.

The ministry expressed its regret for the shameful silence of the UNESCO organization and its failure to carry out its duties in preserving the Yemeni heritage and holding the aggression accountable for its crimes in Yemen.
