Head of first instance court kidnapped in Lahj

LAHJ, Sept. 20 (YPA) – Tribal militants kidnapped on Tuesday head of the first instance court in Al-Madhariba and Ras Al-Ara areas in Yemen’s southern province of Lahj, which is under the control of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militia.

Human rights sources confirmed that gunmen from “Al-Qa’alala” tribe of Al-Sabiha area kidnapped the head of the Al-Madhariba and Ras Al-Ara court, Judge Abdulhakim Abdo Saif Al-Najashi, and his son Qassem, in addition to the court clerk Mohammed Youssef Salem, by force of arms, after intercepting their car on the coastal road, and taken them to the tribe’s areas.

The sources attributed the kidnapping of the head of the court to an attempt to pressure him to release one of the accused in a criminal case whose case is still pending for judgment.
