Sanaa says UN complicity causes worst humanitarian crisis in Yemen

SANAA, Aug. 31(YPA) – Yemen’s Gas Company in Sanaa affirmed on Wednesday that the complicity of the United Nations with the Saudi-led coalition has caused the worst humanitarian crisis in Yemen.

In a press statement, company’s spokesman, Ali Maasar, accused the UN of not playing its full role in ensuring the implementation of humanitarian entitlements due to the coalition’s violation of the UN armistice by seizing oil and gas ships.

The spokesman pointed out that “the firm imports gas to cover the deficit in the service and industrial sectors, while the piracy of the coalition hinders the work of the company and causes more crises.

Maasar affirmed that for eight years of war and siege, oil and gas revenues has been supplied to foreign banks, while the Yemeni people are suffering from the worst humanitarian crisis.

He stated that the United Nations ignored all the messages and demands of the gas company regarding increasing the quantities of gas arriving from Marib, and putting an end to piracy.
