MAHRA, Aug. 30 (YPA) – UAE, through its militias, is heading to detonate the situation in the city of Al-Ghaydah, Mahra provincial capital, in eastern Yemen.
Local sources familiar with the matter said that leaders of the anti-foreign sit-in committee in Mahra monitored suspicious movements of members of the UAE-funded Southern Transitional Council (STC) militia during the past two days in the city.
The sources confirmed that the STC militias transported a large amount of light and medium weapons and stored them in some houses in the eastern and northern neighborhoods of the city of al-Ghaydah.
The sources accused the UAE of transporting weapons by sea to Ghaydah coast to reinforce its elements present in the city with weapons, in the context of preparing for the upcoming confrontations in the province.
Last week, the STC vowed, after its militias controlled the Islah camps in Shabwa and Abyan, to take control of Hadramout and Mahra, under the pretext of uprooting what they called the coup and terrorist organizations.
The UAE and Saudi Arabia are targeting the leader of the popular resistance in Mahra, Sheikh Ali Salem Al-Huraizi, who calls for the exit of foreign forces, led by the American and British, from Mahra, and reopening Al-Ghaydah Airport for civilian flights, which foreign forces have worked to convert the airport into a military base since 2018.
