Islah factions handed over their last positions in Abyan to STC

ABYAN, Aug. 28 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militias on Saturday stormed the last positions of the Islah forces in Abyan province, southern Yemen.

Military sources said that the pro-Islah Bin Ma’ili battalion evacuated its camp and positions in the Arqoub area after handing them over to the STC’s militias.

The sources explained that “Bin Ma’ili” is the last of the faction, affiliated with the Islah, which handed over its camps without confrontations with  the UAE-backed factions in the central region of the province, noting that the battalion withdrew to the outskirts of the border province of Shabwa.

The developments coincide with the STC’s taken control over the entire coastal strip of the Abyan province.
