STC militias hand over Zunjbar city to security forces of Islah in Abyan

ABYAN, Aug. 27 (YPA) – Security forces affiliated with Islah militias arrived on Saturday, led by Brigadier General Ali Nasser baazzab “Abu Mashal Al-Kazmi” to the city of Zunjbar, the capital of Abyan province in southern Yemen.

Media sources said that the entry of “security forces” into Zunjbar came within the framework of the implementation of the terms of the agreement reached between the Transitional Council and the forces stationed in the city of Shaqra.

The agreement came hours after news about the Transitional acceptance of handover the city of Zunjbar to forces belonging to Islah leader, Ahmed al-Maysari, the former Interior Minister of Hadi government.

The sources confirmed that the armed forces of Al-Kazmi took over the security headquarters in the city.

In the context, a statement issued by Abu Mashal Al-Kazmi’s office confirmed that the priorities of the governorate Security Department’ work are to establish security and stability in all directorates of Abyan governorate, which is to combat terrorist elements in the first place.
