WORLD, Aug. 27 (YPA) – Taiwan’s Ministry of Defense announced on Friday that 35 warplanes and 8 Chinese warships deploy near the island.
“We have monitored the activity of 35 aircraft and eight ships of the People’s Liberation Army of China at sea and airspace near Taiwan.
The ministry noted that 18 aircraft crossed the so-called middle line of the strait, including eight Su-30 fighters, four J-16s, three J-11s and three J-10s.
Taiwan sent an air patrol to monitor the situation, issued radio warnings and deployed anti-aircraft missile systems.
Earlier, the Chinese military announced the conclusion of a massive military exercise it carried out around Taiwan, following the visit of US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi to the island, but vowed to continue regular patrols near it.
