Saudi court sentences religious scholar to 10 years in prison

SANAA, Aug. 22 (YPA) – A Saudi court has sentenced an religious scholar and of the Grand Mosque to 15 years in prison.

A human rights organization said on Monday that the court of Appeals imprisoned the Imam Saleh Al Talib, the Imam and preacher of the Grand Mosque.

“Democracy Now for the Arab World” organization explained that the appeal court’s decision came to overturn the decision of the Specialized Criminal Court, which acquitted Al Talib of the charges against him.

Saudi Arabia has arrested dozens of preachers, most of them since the summer of 2017, and charged them with various charges, and imprisoned some of them for many years, and released a few of them.
