Fisheries Ministry announces opening of shrimp catching season

SANAA, Aug. 18 (YPA) – The Ministry of Fisheries in Sanaa government on Thursday announced the opening of the season of catching coastal shrimp from the Yemeni waters in the Red Sea region, starting from August 20 until further notice.

In a circular it issued today, the Ministry of Fisheries obligated the General Authority for Fisheries in the Red Sea to monitor the nets used in shrimp fishing and to adhere to the nets with holes referred to in the law to give the stock an opportunity for renewal and sustainability.
