Meteorology expects rains to continue in next 24 hours

SANAA, Aug. 15 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology has expected continued rain, accompanied by thunderstorms, most Yemeni provinces for the next 24 hours.

In its daily weather bulletin, the center said that heavy rains accompanied by thunderstorms and hailstones to continue in separate areas of the western mountainous provinces from Saada in the north to Lahj in the south.

Heavy rains of medium intensity are also expected, sometimes in separate areas of the deserts of Mahra, Hadramout, Shabwa, Abyan, and parts of the governorates of Jawf and Marib.

According to the center, winds will be strong, ranging between 25-60 knots in the Socotra archipelago and 15-25 knots in the Gulf of Aden and the eastern and southern coasts.

It warned citizens of heavy rains, torrential flows in water ways and valleys, calling for caution against building collapses, mud and rocky slides, and low horizontal visibility.
