Sanaa Court begins trial of Egyptian-led terrorist cell

SANAA, July 14 (YPA) – The Sanaa Criminal Court held on Sunday a session to consider the case of a terrorist cell affiliated with Al-Qaeda, consisting of seven members, led by Naji Okasha who holds an Egyptian nationality.

During the session, chaired by Judge Abdullah Al-Najjar, and attended by Judge Hussein Al-Azzi and Judge Muhammad Muflih, and attended by Public Prosecution member Judge Ali Al-Julhi.

On October 30, 2024, the ruling issued by the Specialized Criminal Court of First Instance convicted Naji Mohammad Okasha Yunis Al-Khawli (Egyptian nationality) of the crime of leading, establishing and managing an armed gang affiliated with Al-Qaeda to commit the crimes of robbery by force of Al-Karimi Bank, banditry, and robbery, in addition to the crimes of murder, kidnapping, resisting the police, and forgery of official documents.
