WORLD, Aug. 14 (YPA) – Australian capital Canberra’s airport was evacuated on Sunday after gunshots were heard in the main terminal building, media reports said.
An Initial report indicated that one person has been taken into custody and a firearm was recovered, the police said in a statement.
There have been no reported injuries, it added.
Passengers on social media reported that the airport had been closed and there was a heavy police presence.
Videos posted on social media earlier in the day showed police detaining a man inside the airport as travellers look on.
