LAHJ, July. 31 (YPA) – Thousands of Al-Sabiha tribesmen of Lahj, south of Yemen, rejected on Sunday a recruitment process that launched by the UAE forces-funded Tariq Afash in the province.
Local sources affirmed that sheikhs of Al-Sabiha tribes gathered in a tribal meeting in Ras Al-Ara area, carrying various types of medium and heavy weapons, to call on the Salafist groups in their areas that seek to recruit under the so-called “Happy Yemen Brigades”, to leave the province.
The armed tribes threatened to cut off the coastal road in front of the recruits of the Salafist groups and to confront them by force if they did not leave Al-Sabiha areas, calling on their sons not to join the ranks of the Happy Yemen Brigades.
During the past two months, the coalition brought in hundreds of extremist Salafist elements from Lahj and Dhalea and recruited them into the so-called “Happy Yemen Brigades” in the coastal areas overlooking the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
