YMU condemns attack on media crews during reopening of ‘Sixty-Fifty’ road in Taiz

SANAA, Jul. 16 (YPA) – The Yemeni Media Union (YMU) condemned the attack on media crews that accompanied the Field Action Team during the reopening of  the ‘Sixty-Fifty’ road in Taiz province, southwestern Yemen, where the Saudi-led coalition mercenaries fired at them on Thursday.

“Targeting journalists in the course of their normal tasks in keeping  up with events on the ground is a clear violation of international conventions that ensure the protection of media professionals during the conflict, and criminalize the attacks on them, which is a war crime that will not pass without punishment, as media professionals document what is happening and convey it to as it is,” the YMU said in a statement carried out by Saba News Agency (SABA).

The YMU held the relevant authorities loyal to the Saudi-led coalition forces responsible for the safety of all media crews that accompanying the Field Action Team to open roads in Taiz, to alleviating the suffering of the people of the province and all travelers from various provinces of the Republic.

The Union called on all media professionals to condemn this act, which could result in losing their lives and show solidarity with their colleagues, stressing on keep going to expose the crimes of aggression until they reach the free world the coalition forces  stop their criminal operations in Yemen.
