Military negotiating delegation returns to Sanaa after discussing UN truce

SANAA, July. 07 (YPA) – The military negotiating delegation returned to the capital Sanaa, coming from Amman, after discussing violations of the UN-sponsored humanitarian and military truce and the opening of roads.

The delegation’s head, Major General Yahya Al-Razami, said in a press statement that the delegation made many proposals during its meeting with United Nations representatives during the recent talks in Jordan.

“We were surprised that the other side did not attend the UN-sponsored consultations, and it is still delaying any understanding.”

Al-Razami indicated that the United Nations was reluctant to take the initiative to open 3 roads as a first stage.

“We decide to open the appropriate roads in stages, without waiting for the approval of the other party, and we regret the failure to reach an understanding as a result of this party’s intransigence,” he added.

He held the other party responsible for any offensive behavior on the roads that would be opened humanitarianly by the Sanaa government, carrying out military and aggressive actions, or harassing and preventing citizens for political purposes. “It became clear to the world during the Amman negotiations that the goal of the other party in the road file was political blackmail.”

Al-Razami also confirmed that the United Nations had been informed of the violations of the other side by the reconnaissance and warplanes, as well as military actions on the western coast, Taiz, Marib and other fronts.

“We presented Sanaa’s vision to strengthen the ceasefire and hold the other party responsible for any repercussions resulting from the continuation of violations,” and the Supreme Political Council’s announcement of opening the Fifty Sixty Road unilaterally is evidence of our seriousness in alleviating suffering in Taiz sons,” he explained.
