Indian Court calls on Nupur Sharma to apologize on offensive statements

SANAA, July. 02 (YPA) – India’s Supreme Court call for on Saturday the former spokeswoman of the ruling party in the country, Nupur Sharma, should apologize to the nation on television.

This came after offensive statements made by Sharma against to Islam and the Prophet “Mohammed”, Peace be upon him.

The court blamed Sharma, saying that her remarks “set the whole country on fire”, after her remarks, which were described as “offensive to Islam”, provoked violence in some regions of India, and prompted Muslim countries to submit strong letters of protest against India.

Sharma’s membership in the party had been canceled after a diplomatic protest by Islamic countries, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Iran, and the incident hampered the developed diplomatic relations with these countries.

The court said Sharma’s edgy statement was responsible for the unfortunate incident in Udaipur, where the situation there is about to explode, after two Muslim men slaughtered a Hindu tailor, photographed the incident, and posted it on the Internet, saying that this attack was in retaliation for his support of “Sharma” on social media.
