SOCOTRA, Jun. 28 (YPA) – The UAE forces in Socotra Island, southern Yemen, have written off the banners of Yemeni and Arab projects in the city of Hadibo, the capital of the island.
Local sources in the city said, “The removal of Saudi banners from the island comes in order to single out the UAE with the Socotra archipelago, away from any other country, including Yemeni projects.”
The sources added that the UAE instructed its militias on the island to remove all signs belonging to Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman and Kuwait in Socotra.
The UAE is seeking to delete the name of Kuwait from the largest educational complex on the island, after it cut the electricity cables from the complex early last year, according to the sources.
