Explosion reported at army ammunition depot in Mauritania

WORLD, Jun. 19 (YPA) – A powerful explosion at an ammunition storage depot reportedly rocked the Brakna Region, according to the Mauritanian army,

“The explosion occurred in an ammunition depot belonging to the 71st Battalion in Boghe province, in the seventh military region,” the Mauritanian army said in a statement.

“The explosion did not cause human damage,” the statement said.

The army did not give further details on the cause of the explosion or the material damage it caused.
