Coalition commits 8,232 violations in 76 days of UN-brokered armistice

PROVINCES, Jun. 18 (YPA) – The US-backed Saudi-led coalition forces continued to violate the UN-brokered humanitarian and military truce in Yemen for the 76th consecutive day, with a total of 8,232 violations.

A military source in Sanaa said on Saturday that during the past 24 hours, the coalition forces committed 103 violations, including 44 flights of armed reconnaissance and spy planes in the airspace of the provinces of Marib, Taiz, Hajjah, Jawf, Saada, Dhalea, and Bayda, and the border fronts.

The source indicated that the coalition forces have established combat fortifications around the city of Marib, and committed three violations with armed reconnaissance aircraft’s air strikes on citizens’ homes, and the sites of the army and popular committees in Al-Mathal, Al-Sotiyat, and Al-Nijjah areas in Al-Fakher District of Dhalea.

A violation was monitored with the coalition forces’ advance towards the positions of the army and popular committees in Al-Dhabab front in Taiz, while 38 violations with shooting at citizens’ homes and positions of the army and popular committees in the provinces of Marib, Taiz, Hajjah, Saada, Dhalea, and Bayda, and on the border fronts.

The coalition forces also committed 16 violations by artillery shelling on the sites of the army and the popular committees in al-Akd, al-Balaq al-Sharqi, al-Tala’a, and Dashdush and Mala’a areas in Marib province, sites in the al-Dhabab front in Taiz, and Al-Madain area in Saada province, and other sites of the army and committees in Najran region, according to the source.

It is worth noting that the coalition forces committed 6,322 violations during the past two months of the UN armistice period before its extension.
