WORLD, Jun. 13 (YPA) – Since the normalization of UAE-Israel relations was first announced nearly two years ago, the UAE and the Israeli entity have turned into an integrated alliance, The New York Times reported.
In a report, the newspaper addressed the visit of Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett to the UAE a few days ago in an effort to polish his image, adopt his foreign policy papers, as well as divert attention from his domestic political problems.
The paper began its report by noting that Bennett went to the UAE last Thursday for a lightning visit that marks the latest review to strengthen the alliance between the two countries and the United Joint Front against Iran amid rising tensions over Tehran’s nuclear ambitions for peaceful purposes.
The report explained that the visit, during which Bennett met with the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, came more than a week after the signing of a large-scale free trade agreement between the two sides, while a new sign of the consolidation of relations between Israeli occupation and some Arab governments.
The report noted that Israeli occupation and the UAE established full diplomatic relations less than two years ago, thanks to the Trump administration’s mediation, leading to the formation of a broader regional alliance that led to normalization agreements with Bahrain and Morocco.
Israel signed peace treaties with Egypt and Jordan decades ago, but the lack of progress in resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, despite continued security relations, has long hampered the normalization of relations between Israel and those Arab countries, the report said.
