Japan expands its sanctions against Russia

WORLD, Jun.07 (YPA) – Japan has imposed sanctions on the Russian Agricultural Bank and the Credit Bank of Moscow as well as the Belarusian Bank for Development and Reconstruction.

According to a press release issued by the Japanese Foreign Ministry, sanctions that include freezing the assets of Japan’s banks, if any, as well as banning financial transactions with these institutions, come into force on Tuesday (June 7th).

“In addition, a ban has been imposed on the export of goods that contribute to strengthening Russia’s production base.”

Japan had supported the decision of the European Union states to impose a partial ban on the import of Russian oil, in the wake of the Russian military operation in Ukraine.
