Justice Ministry, ICRC discuss ways to document coalition crimes committed inYemen

SANAA, May 26 (YPA) – Ministry of Justice discussed on Thursday with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC)’s delegation ways to document the crimes committed by the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen in accordance with international law.

This came during a meeting held by the minister, Judge Nabil Nasser Al-Azani, with the head of the delegation, Katharina Ritz, the officials also discussed ways to promote a culture of international humanitarian law in Yemen.

In the meeting, the Minister confirmed that the judiciary documented the integrated criminal files on the crimes of the coalition in accordance with the standards of international criminal law in preparation for submission to international courts.

He explained that ten thousand incidents committed by the countries of aggression coalition, which amount to war crimes against humanity, have been counted and documented.

Judge Al-Azani pointed to the importance of strengthening the partnership between the Ministry and the ICRC, especially with regard to training and judicial qualification in international humanitarian law and applying its outputs to the reality of crimes committed by the coalition in Yemen.

For her part, the head of the ICRC official said that her delegation would ontinue to provide all possible aspects of support to Yemen, which would contribute to alleviating the human suffering experienced by the Yemeni people.
