US Secretary of State: We do not seek conflict or cold war with China

SANAA, May 26 (YPA) – The US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, said on Thursday that his country would not seek conflict or a cold war with China.

“China is also an integral part of the global economy and our ability to cope with global updates, from the climate crisis to the coronavirus pandemic,” Blinken was quoted by the Russian state-owned RIA Novosti news agency as saying. The United States and China will have to deal with each other for the foreseeable future.”

He noted that in areas where the United States can engage constructively with China, it will do so. He added, “This will not happen as a favor to us or to anyone, and certainly not as abandoning our principles, but because working together to solve big problems.”

The US Secretary stressed that his country “does not seek a conflict or a cold war with China.”
