SANAA, Amy 19 (YPA) – The Sultanate of Oman discussed on Thursday with Iran the establishment of a joint marine navigation company between the two countries.
The is move came in conjunction with the issuance of an order by the Sultan of Oman, “Haitham bin Tariq,” ratifying the agreement on cooperation in the field of maritime transport, which was signed by the two countries nearly two years ago.
The CEO of the Oman Navigation Company agreed with the head of the Iranian Commercial Development Organization, Ali Reza Peyman Pak, on the importance of the strategic location of Iran and Oman and the possibility of carrying out re-exports of goods and transit between the two sides.
They stressed the need to raise the two countries’ share of the regional market, by strengthening commercial infrastructure, especially in the field of shipping, international transport and transit, and activating the “North-South” transit corridor.
